Rear Brake lights are driving me insane!

    Need help!!

My rear brake lights have suddenly stopped working, weirdly enough though my brake light on the rear window is still working.. which makes me wonder if it would be the switch as surely these are all connected?

Ive checked every possible fuse and they're all in good condition. Changed both lamps. I'm at my wits end.. I dont claim to have a overly vast knowledge of cars but i get by fairly well.. for a girl. Any help would be appreiciated.

    Thanks very much.

    Jakki.

Check the connections in the actual bulb housing, they get corroded but just scrape the clean with a blade or screw driver, my bulb wasn't working on the driver side, took off the lense and poured a glass our water out of it

Yeah I took the connections off and gave them a good clean, still had no joy though.. Thanks for the suggestion though

What you need is a Multi Meter to check and see if there is a voltage at the lamp terminal. That way you would Identify if there is power or not getting to the lamp holder. Most Electrical prob's on a car are usually a bad earth, especially so if both side's are not working.
