Important! : Help please, my car keeps cutting out !

Thank you for reading my post, im new to the forums and unsure if im posting in the right place, but i am desperate for help as i need my car for work..

okay, so heres the problem with my S reg, 1.1.

I'll be driving along as normal and i'll notice my fuel gauge creeping up.
Once the fuel gauge reaches full the car will just cut out, it doesnt stall, everything just stops working and i only have my momentum to move the car out of the way if im moving.

This has not happened for 7 months, and last time it was simply the fuel pump fuse and after this was changed, it ran fine for the past 7 months.

This time, the fuse has been changed three times, the timer relay has been reattatched to my engine correctly and the altenator tightened up. my headlights had stopped working and these have been changed as well.

When the car cuts out all my warning lights show but on an ECU check it shows no faults. These do not show until the car has cut out. Voltage is low, but not low enough to cause the problem, ive been told.

After it has cut out, i will try and restart it but it just goes crazy and wont turn over to run. After being sat for 10 or so minutes, it will start with a jump and i'll get two minutes down the road for it to happen again.

I've had two mechanics look at the car and neither can figure it out, and i really need to figure it out.

service history is good prior to my ownership, ive not serviced it since having it for about a year, passed it MOT after a new catalyst and this is just an intermittent fault as it has been months since the last time it happened.

If anyone has any suggestions, however small, to what the problem may be, then please please please let me know.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

sounds like too much fuel flooding the engine maybe, have you cheched your plugs and fuel pump itself?

im not sure if these have been checked, the only time i can smell fuel as if over fuelling is when ive tried to restart it too many times and it wont go.
Will get in touch with the guy thats helping me out and see what he thinks.
    Thank you.

Change alternator maybe, they can fuck your electrics up big time

Thanks. I will pass any suggestions on to the guy helping me with it.
do you think it is fixable? Or would it be worth doing a bit of car shopping?
