Plate under rocker cover 8v

   What's this plate for and do you actually need it?

   Thats the oil baffle plate, it ensures even distrubuction of oil when you top up the engine.
   Wouldnt recommend running the car without it.

   It's an oil baffle plate. Stops all of the oil that is thrown around inside the rocker cover ending up just coating the inside of the cover instead of being deflected back down to lubricate the rockers etc. Yes you need it.

   It all drains down into the sump. Its to stop it spraying around inside the rocker cover
