Vts = abs??

    Hi all,

    Quick question, did all VTS' come with ABS??

    Have just taken my track project out for a spin and it doesn't appear to have it.

    The back wheels are locking up when hard on the brakes, front seem ok, but cannot feel any attempt of abs kicking in.

    Any ideas??

    Should be a light on the dash that comes on at startup and goes out. Look for the ABS block/pump under the bonnet, ABS rings on the drive shafts too or rear hubs.

    If i reckon right Saxos from before 1999 doesn't come with ABS,a safe test you can do is to check the ABS pump under the bonnet,if it does have two pipes that then goes helical then your Saxò got the ABS.

    Any clue as to where that is?? What it looks like??

    check near the master cylinder in the engine bay, trace the pipe work and it should go back to a block looking thing with a cylinder shape on it and an electrical plug going into it.

    Aye thats the one. However I've read that they dont usually cause many problems, its likely to be an ABS sensor down

    Cheers, so does the pic confirm it should have ABS??

    I've got no lights on the dash to say there's a problem.

    Cheers

    it should have ABS but whether its working or not is a different matter. The the light should illuminate then go out when you start the car so somebody could have removed the bulb from the dash if they were too tight to replace a sensor. Get it on a fault code reader

    All Vts's came with abs.
    As mentioned a fault code reader would be a good start, also if you're locking the rears check your load bias valve and make sure its free'd up!

    Outside chance also of this mate.http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=262297 have a look at the fuse diagram it may account for the light not showing on the dash.
