This is quite hard to describe but i'll try and do it in the simplest way i can! My battery died and charged it back up, put the code in and started it, left it running for about 5 minutes to put a bit of charge in it, tried to turn the cd player on and it just comes on for about 3 seconds and cuts off? Taken the plug out of the back and put it back in again and still the same problem, also the code system isn't working and you can just start it up! What have i done i'm confused?!

    your battery is dead.

    As said above,

    Could also be your alternator.

that's also a possibility, and most likely to happen if the car is used for small trips.

    1. get a multimeter, check the battery, replace if faulty
    2. if not, alternator
    3. if 1 and 2 don't solve the problem, check loose connections.

Id meter the supply to the radio see if thats cutting in and out (red wire to black wire) and also the igniton wire to the radio should be yellow wire i think

Cheers lads! The battery does sound as though its the problem, it was sat with a flat battery for about a week and I boosted it off and left it running for about 5 minutes so the alternator could charge it but I guess it could need more charge?

did you turn on the cd player with the engine running or off?

if the battery was completely flat 5 mins is not enough to charge it

Unplug your radio, charge the battery up then take the car for a run & see how things are mate. Also halfrauds do a free alternator/battery check.
