Looking for a digital temp display for my new project car. Needs to be digital and not in a gauge or has to be one I can strip from the gauge. like this.

Called into maplin today mate and tbh the kit he was trying to sell me looked as if it was from nasa. loads of soldering and calibration needed.

What are you trying to take the reading from? inside the cab? rad temp?

    Rad core temp.

The car is going to be running on carb's so I wont be running a ecu or a dash cluster for that matter. Just don't like the look of after market gauges so just want to run a rev counter and mph gauge in the cluster then have this in the centre console.

Something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2709546415...84.m1439.l2649 would work but the problem is going to be getting the probe into the system. You could put one of these in your upper rad hose http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3007774699...84.m1497.l2649 and feed the probe through it annd seal it up with heat resistant silicon (maybe like the liquid gasket you use for leaky rocker covers0

They are no good mate. All the sensors in the car already can be used to get a reading. The display you listed is useless mate as it only goes to 70 degrees like the rest of them.

What about a koso temperature garage or a Simoni racing digital gauge?
