green VTR injectors??

  1. #1
after a thread i amde the other day i have now found out the green injectors in my vtr which i thought were from a 1.1 are vtr injectors with the part number 0280155794, i believe that is correct? has anyone else ever came across these injectors in green? all the ones i seen are blue

ok cheers mate, would effect performance at all then no?

did you try the blue injectors?
  5. #5
no i havn't yet mate, im trying them on the weekend when my mates isn't busy

what makes you think the green ones aren't right? is the car flat spotting etc?
  7. #7
not a lot of top end power but there is loads of bottom end torque, so i thought maybe it would be because of 1.1 injectors, which i dont think they are now because the part numbers. i thought the lump was no good a few months back and was going to replace it, then it sorted itself out but now its no good again, but my mate pointed out the other day the exhaust gasses smell like its running rich, i never noticed until he pointed it out but i think it is.

it is near enough brand new mate
serviced it a few thousand miles ago, checked air filter and its still near enough like new

what condition is the exhaust in? maybe part of the exhaust has broken up internally and is causing some form of a blockage. so at top end it cant release the gases quick enough and its all backing up.
  11. #11
Have you had it on a reader too see it there are any other faults with sensors etc? I mean standard VTRs are good at the top end anyway
  12. #12
    Or rather aren't good**
  13. #13
no i havnt, i did have a run up the bypass behind a 106 with a vtr engine before and it left me with no problem, both have 1.1 boxes, am just considering getting another engine with less miles, doing the gasket and valve seals, water pump etc then putting that in, and chis, the exhaust is in good condition

what ecu is he running? if its something rallye or xsi based that might make a difference.
I'd compression test your engine and see how it fairs with that

he's using his quicksliver ecu on it, i was thinking rather than do a compression test just put a lump in anyway for peace of mind, mine does smoke a little anyway..well...when i say a little...a fair bit of white smoke :/ not using coolant though

hmm if its on a quicky ECU it doesnt have a raised rev limit over a VTR, so something must be up. Sounds like yours could be over fuelling? mine used to do that with rallye injectors and a 3.5 bar FPR

yeah i was thinking the exhaust gas smells a bit rich as if its over fueling, its all standard apart from a sportex backbox though, and i know the lambda is ok, surly if it was running rich it wouldnt slow it down so much?

think its worth putting a new lump in? theres one fairly local to me for 50 quid on 80k
  18. #18
I'd pull the head off yours a give it a good going over, an 80k engine might end up being as dodgy
  19. #19
might be worth doing, but the head was off not so long ago when i serviced it as i done the head gasket, and i didnt notice anything then, thing is, not sure if its worth spending much money on an engine with 113k roughly on it, thats assuming its the original engine of course.

hahah be 3 plug wont it? and probably out my price range
  22. #22
No not 3 plug on those, its more similar to the black top VTR engine if anything. Will fit in a single plug silvertop car and work though
Not really too pricey, probably 50 quid more than a VTR engine maybe

will probably end up getting a vtr engine soon tbh, waiting on a payment after selling private plate so that'll be my engine fund lol, my mate had a listen earlier and said he thought he could hear some piston slap or something?
