Question about MOT Checks regarding bucket seats

  1. #1
Most likely a nooby question, but......

I've got my MOT coming up soon, and since the last MOT, i've fitted some recaro reclining bucket seats.

However, i think they have come out of (or are designed for) a 4 door car. (Possibly an EVO)

Because of this, they don't have a proper 'mechanism' to tilt the seats quickly to get into the back. Allthough they do have the turning thing on the side to adjust them.

Will this be a problem with the MOT with regards access to the rear passengers?

    Thanks

I would take out the back seat, pop in for mot, replace back seat.
However. I think if you were ever in an accident and your friends or family were trapped in the back it would be a different matter. And also reckon insurance wouldn't be too happy about it

    Yeh i was thinking that.

They do recline forward and there's enough room to climb in and out...... But thats using the backrest adjuster on the inside of the seat, And not a proper tilt lever

There is no MOT requirement to have the seat tilt forward to allow access to the rear. The only requirement is that the seat backrest must be fixed in a normal, upright position.
