Dead Alternator

I'm just checking here, because I'm fairly sure it will be the case, but..

I'm fitting a new alternator as mine was making noises like the bearings were shafted, then shortly after the dash stopped responding, needles didn't move etc, petrol light came on with a full tank.

A packed up alternator would cause that as well wouldn't it?

is the owner a massive bender?

Err no? unless it caused a voltage spike.

disconnect and re-connect the battery again. or remove and reinsert the bottom right fue behind the glove box and the dials should come on again.

What about if it's totally fubared and is fuxxing up my circuitzzzz?

Basically I was driving it home when everything went dim, and it became apparent it hadn't been charging the battery, and thus the lights went dim, and the dash stopped working.

I had just enough powahz to get home, where I left it in a hedge, and it snowed?

I'm sort of hoping that with a charge of the battery and a new alternator, my world will be a happy place?

Was your battery light not on? O_o

    Sounds like it dieded anyway.

It appears my battery light doesn't work either.

I've put it on the list of "shit that doesn't work"

    It's a long list.

If your bearings were gone it may have been shorting out, would explain the lights and lack of battery light
