Thermostat and housing issues

    Hello guys
Finally decided to bite the bullet and get a new thermostat ..... The problem I have is that it it bigger than my old one , the motor factor guy said this isn't a problem you just put this one in the middle ( if that makes sense ) then clamp it up . Does this seem right to you ? My housing is also cracked , where can I get a new one ?

I had this issue when my thermostat went a few weeks back. My thermostat is built in and this (somehow) confused the 'experts' down at Halfrauds. In the end I just took it back down, got a refund and ordered direct from Peugeot. In hindsight, I should've just gone straight to Peugeot - I only went to Halfrauds as they had the (turned out to be wrong anyway) part in stock and surprise, surprise, the Pug one fits perfectly.

I'd go to Citroen and order one personally - that way you'll know it's genuine and the fit should be spot on

there is two different sizes..dont just fit it

    itll cause future probs lol

there isnt a great deal of diff in sizes..but there is a diff

best bet..go to a breakers and get a new stat housing..take it to a motor factors or euro parts and ask for one that matches the car you get the housing from (get the year)

and try get same year as your car..as there is about 4/5 diff stat housings for TU and some of them will leak if fitted to diff heads

sit it in place at the shop..it should fit nicely in the recess..job done

edit- do you mean the platic or the actual housing is cracked?

I ended up getting a new housing and thermostat built in which has fitted fine
