Cheers matey, it's applying fibres to give a "pile" effect

Lots of Motorsport and track cars do the dashes to reduce glare

But looks nice and is a good way to personalise your car

beg to differ. i bought the mrs a vtr a few years ago, the roof had been painted matt black badly. cheap option was to wrap it myself.

on my vts i have wrapped the door pillars and instead of the heavy door trim wrap instead.

i wrapped the a, b and c pillars in carbon looks good, windscreen heater makes the a's come off a bit though.. also have my mirror caps wrapped in carbon, looked good and was a bit of a change but want to take it off now.. i dont like panels or anything wrapped only interior trims etc

nice roof job mate how much it cost and was it diffiult.
and i have done the buttons by hazard and de mist
im gunna wait and do it on my new car probably as a five door looks a tad odd

Its good when used for a purpose, but just 'wapping things' looks a bit crummy.
Like Stew has used it, improves the car!

If they could create a wrap you could laquer they could be onto something, but presently, it doesnt really look like carbon.

When i bought my VTR the previous owner had painted the wheels and badges white. When i took the white paint off i realised he had keyyed the fake chrome plastic whatever the citroen canards are coated in from the factory. They were like a matt grey. I Carbon wrapped them and they look decent! I just figured i would give it a go.
The first time i cocked them up a little, the 2nd effort though the wrap went on perfectly!
I also once wrapped the dash trims on a mk1 fiesta that worked really well.

I thought you could laquer wrap?

Not the stuff i bought. It was bloody ages ago now, i bought it to make some cable guards for my bikes as well as for friends. I had enough left to the badges on this.
But i can remember doing the back to a friends phone and tried to lacquer it and it just went gloss black. The light no longer refracted off it properly so just looked consistent opposed to the weave going in opposite directions i guess.

That roof looks good with carbon vinyl, i seen an engine hood with it, but that looked bad..

Imo it looks tacky and nothing like the real stuff unless you get the expensive stuff. A b and c pillars wrap them in suede or something not fake carbon_

Got quoted 130 for roof and mirror caps in Bridgend area is that the normal? It would be a proper job and its good stuff
  21. #21
I would say about right price as long as sunroof and ariel removed prior to applying.

I have seen some very very bad jobs.
