Headlight Bulb retaining clip broken. Help!

  1. #1
Just went to fit my new Osram Nightbreakers and have found the reason why the orginal bulb went orange. Two things (not sure if they are related or just a coincidence) the clip that holds the bulb into the healight doesn't work because its missing the latch at the top so the bulb bounces around and also the black connecter that powers the bulb had partially melted to the back of the bulb.

Is there a bodge i can do to get the clip to hold the bulb in place and should i be worried about the melted clip?

    Cheers

The connector is melted due to bulb not being seated properly when seated less or no heat will come through, other than that best thing to do would be to find a replacement clip but if that is out the way for you, amd you like to DIY you own way like me, use something like a metel coat hanger, chop it down,
Or even glue it, (make sure it is secure and seated correctly otherwise MOT failure and your aim will be out) hope this helps

Thats great. I'll DIY it methinks. Shame its such a pain to get the headlight off to fix it. Would a self tapping screw work?

I wouldnt risk the screw you could emd up busting the bulb or worse messig the housing up so youve got a wonkky light lol, there is a way to do it without headlight off but its fidderly i take headlight out too
