    Right i have The 1.1i saxo head gasket is leaking, in coolant and very little cream on the cap, this is my question im from birmingham and my mom is from western super mare, which is 98miles there 98miles back, she can not walk so car is only option, i will be going with my girlfriend rufflery 11 stone im 12 stone, and with my sis about 12 stone, there then same back but including my mom with luggies she is coming for my nephews birthday, any opinions or ideas, will my car make it ? Any things i should know or exspect ? My cars hasnt lost any performance as of yet, ive been topping up oil monthly, and changing coolant monthly just untill i can e arsed to sort head gasket, so any advice would be appriciated jorney starts this friday just after 7pm i will be setting off

    Did compression test aswell and that seemed fine

    Hard to say with these things but have you got breakdown cover?

    Hi Japps, you didnt mention how much coolant you have to top up a month, or the mieage you cover during this period. If its not too much(less than a cup of water) then I cant see a problem but, I would suggest you do an oil change before you actually do this trip, and dont overstress the engine during the trip.
    Keep an eye on the temp gauge during the trip too, if it starts to creep up above its normal running temp then you need to stop to check it out, and top up as necessary.. Good luck and enjoy your Nephews Birthday.

    No breakdown cover bro, and my old sax dont have temp gauge, its just a light, and ive never seen it come on accept wjen ignition is turned and monthly yes about a cup amd im doimg oil chamge monthly did one yesterday, so maybe that will be fine up till friday? It is a long trip will be two hours there two hours back thats without rest amd at 70 im thinking do 60 and have 30 mins break? And thanks carl for the birthday wish

    Do ypu think its beat to strip my car out aswell all pointless weight like my twin sub is about 5 stone lol, which i womt be using with famaliy im the car you think it will make a diffrence ? Less stress on the engine amd other bits and bobs i can throw out?
