1.4 8v wont start :/

    hi, im will and im new to this forum. ive got 2 saxo's one crashed vts and one 1.4 8v that wont start, i intend to put all the vts running gear into the 1.4 but at a later date once i can afford to modd the engine however im trying to get the 1.4 running and its not sparking, fueling every now and again and the lift pump is only working sometimes any common faults?

    check the fuel pump relay, under the ecu. and check the crank sensor too

    tried to swop the relay with the vts one and its slightly different, guuna try a scrapyard one :/ i doubt its a crank fault but i havent checked the obd :/

    swapped the fuel pump relay and its still the same, i thought that everytime you turn the ignition on it should prime the fuel pump but i dont think thats the case, ive had the snap on diagnostic computer on and the fuel pump works every time however the injectors arnt squirting and the plugs arnt sparking still, any advice

    you definitely getting fuel then? If not get the seats out, and fuel pump cover and listen for it running. Or run a live feed to it directly from the battery to it and see what it does.
    I'd check the crank sensor too, squirt in some WD40 in the connection and give it a clean

    thanks for the help, the crank sensor was not working atall, i ruled that out because there was no fault codes :/ silly me
