Alright lads and ladies!
A couple of months ago i bought my mk1, now apparently its rare because its a '97 1.1 desire sx in dark green? Checked ebay and only seems to be one other on there at the moment, anyways...
About a month after buying the car i had a headunit fitted by halfrauds(i know, i know) because i was being lazy and couldnt be bothered to fit it myself,
The bloke says weve got to splice the wires as there isnt a permanent feed only a secondary feed or something along those lines, Now before this happened my interior light wouldnt work and neither would my central locking, They both work now but only if you push the door pin down and the interior light only if you have the ignition on!
Im sorry for the long post but i just want to know if anyone knew what i would have to do to get the central locking to work as its a pain in the arse having to keep opening my door with the key and then opening the door for the missis after im in, I know it would be easier to leave her at home but i really need a solution, its pissing me off and i really want it sorted!
At the moment i only have what looks like the second key(flat black thing with the logo engraved) I got a key cut at timpsons but that doesnt even unlock the doors manually, anything i can do?
Is it just a case of getting a central locking key and reprogramming it or is my wiring totally and utterly fucked?
