has anybody done a how to guide for changing cambelt on saxo phase 2 vtr??

    hi i am thinking of changing the timing/cambelt on my saxo vtr, i have looked in the haynes manual for the car.. seem pretty straight forward,..has anyone on here changed the cambelt them selves? and has anyone done a step by step how to guide??

    As a general rule if you have to ask how to do it without searching first you are not upto the job.

    Just remember if you do cock it up following the Haynes you will need a new engine or have to trailer it to a garage.

    Its dead easy on an 8v. Just remember the tensioner is done up to 23nm but as said, go to a garage or get someone from here to do it if you dont feel confident.

    hi, thanks for replys, i have researched it, and have also looked on haynes manual to check torque settings ect. its not that im not confident in doing it, as iv carried out plenty of work on the car myself, i just thought being a saxo website there might also be a how to guide. or tips/do's and dont's.
    thanks gandi699, i agree it is pretty straight forward, good thing being its just a single cam rather then double.
