Whine in first...

   Looking at an advert on Auto Trader a seller has listed a VTR with

   having looked on this site people tend to say gearbox issue / oil / change filters service etc, which doesn't sound too bad but he also says the car is spares or repairs.
   
   Maybe he knows more than he is letting on, main reason Im looking at it is that its right round the corner in a colour I like.
   
   Peoples thoughts?

   If he is saying for spares and repairs then I would say there is more wrong than he is letting on.

   yep, try to look further than just round the corner.

   I've got no issue with travelling, but travelling 10 miles to find its a shed compared to travelling 50 miles was all i was thinking

   I'd rather travel around and get a decent car rather than grabbing the first shed round the corner that's going to cost you because everything on it is falling apart.

   Gearbox change is easy enough, when its not freezing outside mind. However with so many vtrs about why by one thats goosed?

    In regards to the problem he has mentioned it didn't seem a big deal, but he has added spares and repairs which makes me think there's more to it.
    
    Never had a problem travelling for cars, in fact I always have. With this one being really local just wondered what people thought of the whining problem and worse case scenario.

    Looks ok, but if you have to do the box and then some, it may cost you more than another one that doesn't need any repairs. Pictures don't show the engine bay, signs of rust, tyre wear etc.

    Agreed, the seller hasn't messaged me back with any details of what I have asked.
