#2What kind of Saxo you got?
If it's a model with an intermediate driveshaft bearing on the drivers side it could be the carrier hasn't been tightened properly?
Does the "noise" get worse with road speed?
Could be anything really from that description. -
#3ye i have intermediate bearing on the driveshaft its a mk2 2001 vtr n thnx 4 tht i will chek the bolts but im sure they are tight
-
#4and yes the noise does get worse its alot more rough is the feeling through the footwell
-
#5It's an odd one, there isn't really anything which can transmit a vibration like that through the floor.
Gearbox isn't making odd noises is it? could maybe be a wheel bearing?
Jack it up and rotate the wheels by hand, feel and listen for any roughness.

#6no gearbox is fine n ok pal i will try that too cheers for help
-
#7I can't think what else it could be, perhaps someone else could comment?
-
#8ive jst checked the wheel and spun it around and i cant hear no noises nor any rubbing and the driveshaft is tight but i hav noticed there is about half a cm of brake disc left but the brakes dont touch til i press them so i cant see that been the problem as the rubbing is constant
-
#9it could be wheelbearing they are only £15 for the cheap ones
-
#10Not sure if this is the same problem but I have something on my vtr that was making a rubbing noise through the floor and I thought it would be a driveshaft or wheelbearing but they are all fine but the noise has now gotten louder and very noticeable so i'm wondering if its the gearbox maybe the diff?

#11you don't feel gearbox issues through the car as the engine mounts absorb the vibration, you can only hear it.Quote:Not sure if this is the same problem but I have something on my vtr that was making a rubbing noise through the floor and I thought it would be a driveshaft or wheelbearing but they are all fine but the noise has now gotten louder and very noticeable so i'm wondering if its the gearbox maybe the diff?
If it sounds like a washing machine starting the spin cycle that has to be a wheel bearing. no other bearing makes that noise!
