High Specs or 206 Gti 180 calipers?

Currently have a 206 Gti 180 setup but also have High Specs sitting in the garage.

Is it worth fitting the high specs?
Heard of issues with the rubber seals cooking...

Didn't cook mine on the 'ring, and boiled the fluid. And I brake like Alex drives (ie, like a cunt).

tbf though, the 180 setup isn't bad (if pretty heavy). If you're happy with it, then stick some good pads in there and Robert is your sisters father.

I would swap for the hispecs because of jow heavy the gti180 setup is. I weighed my gti180s a few years back and i was astonished at their weight. I did post the results too whoch put off alot of people and 266s seemed to be alot more popular choice afterwards.

this is a good shout tbh like I said above. The weight of the standard cast calipers and carriers is really heavy. You can go from the standard vts setup to 283mm brembo's and save weight - even though the discs are so much heavier. I remember when I first ever changed my brakes to brembo's in 2008 or something I was astonished (as was the wife when I used her kitchen scales to measure them all).

Hi-spec's aren't the best out there, but they are much lighter, look nice, and do a good job. Recommended

And obviously the hispecs will give a bettee feel with the, being 4 pots than the sliding 180s!

Might as well fit them and see how it goes.
Deffo remember the 180's being heavy.
