Odd hesitation

I have a 2003 VTS, which is fairly standard, but healthy. It's recently had a new timing belt and water pump and service, so it's not in need of any maintenance.

It's got a 4-1 manifold, and decat SaxSport system, with a standard VTS airbox and K&N Panel filter.

Over the past few days, I've noticed that under partial throttle in 3rd gear coming out of long corners, I'm getting stuttering / hesitation. It's cured instantly by applying more throttle, and I've already had MAP sensor issues in the past and replaced that, this is more subtle.

It may not be limited to 3rd gear, but that's where I'm noticing it at the moment. It's sort of like a missfire, but not that violent, although it is noticeable.

Any suggestions of things to try? I'm not getting any fault codes, the only thing I could think of is the fuel pump possibly being on the way out, but I would of thought it would have been worse under full throttle than partial?

To be honest, it could be a few things. Air filter dirty is easy one to check, possible coilpack issue, dirty injectors, that kind of thing.

Any other conditions you can replicate? X RPM on X throttle % in X gear, and so on? Might give us more to go on.

    Hi Ross,

I'll have a ride out in it later and try and get some more info, the air filter is 3 weeks old, brand new K&N so it shouldn't be that.

Injectors could be a good shout, worth a thought!
