B-pillars

    Hi guys

The B pillars on my vts have bubbled and split on the passanger side, as I already have the paint from doing my bumpers in gloss black I was thinking of pulling the bubbled stuff off and painting it? Anyone done this before? Does it look any good? As most people have them wrapped I see. Will it leave a sticky residue when taken off? Thanks

You mean the outside of the door? Vinyl wrap or leave it off completely is a better idea, most people remove it anyway!

Yeh mate the outside, so just leave it silver to match the car? I guess I can see what it looks like off, if I don't like it I'll give it a go at glossing...where it tucks into the window rubber should I just carefully stanley down it? Or will it peel from behind there?

Warm it up with a hairdryer, then use your fingers to remove if you use a stanley knife you run the the risk of scratching the paint.

Ok thanks for the advice mate , managed to get the one side off as it was bubbling anyway so easy to pull off. That glue is more than sticky lol, had to use my missus nail varnish remover in the end, which worked a treat .

I'm sure you can buy proper carbon fibre replacements ? Maybe an idea

mine were all bubbled up like 4 years ago, i peeled them off and rubbed off all the sticky shit behind. Didnt like it left bare, thought it looked odd, so took it to a viynl company to do both pillars for a tenner or however much it was back then...

i wouldnt paint it tbh, the finish wont be as good or as durable and it'll take more effort doing a proper job of painting.

Whatever you do, dont buy the pre cut kits from ebay, theyre shit.

    I kept mine on.

everyone takes them off thinking it looks better.

Ok so I took the one side off and yeh I also thought it looked odd lol. I decided to gloss black it in the end too see what it looked like, I'm pretty pleased with the results...I'll post a pic later. Already had all the paint etc..so thought I'd give it a go . Will be doing the other side today too
