door latch closed, now door wont shut!

   Dunno if this is gonna be easy to understand but i opened the passenger door of the car to get something and the little latch that latches onto the hook type thing has stuck open so the door wont shut! Tried pulling the handle to release it but nothing happened, can anyone give me a solution to this?? Cheers! If you could understand a photo better i can get one if needed

   Try working it loose with a straightedge screwdriver, and plenty of WD40 should do the trick.

   As above while flicking the handle and make sure car is unlocked

   Tried the screwdriver bit but it snapped two so i just hit it with a hammer and sprayed shit loads of wd40 in it haha cheers lads
