How hot can a exhaust manifold get up to ??

   I going to by some heatwrap for my vtr 4-1 manifold but there are loads of degrees resistants. I was look at the cheaper ones and they can get up to 600 degrees, i would of thought thats more than enough. Is it ??

   steel starts glowing red at approx 500 deg C so i would of thought more than sufficient , though have seen turboed saxo's where the manifold glows red so not in that case ....

   Mine isnt turboed so it should be sound

   Most wraps are crap
   Id get DEI stuff if i was getting some tbh

   Cats are limited to approx 850degC. The engines I have worked on have been temp limted to 980degC manifold temp.
