When fitting an aftermarket oil cooler such as a mocal one, is it a case of replacing the existing sandwich plate and running the hoses to the cooler, and getting a top rad hose without the two hoses that used to go to the old sandwich plate ? + if its the new style plastic filter housing is the sandwich plate a direct replacement along with the twist fit metal filter ?

#4That's a good question. Possibly. I don't know for sure. However, you could run a Renault 5 (slim) filter which gives you a lot more room in general.Quote:Sweet cheers mate, its a c2 vts engine so will i need a different minifold to clear the new style filter ?

#6If you remove the later filter housing you are left with no threaded extension in the block like the earlier motors. So you will need to find the threaded section. Then yes you can run the take off plate to cooler. Like the earlier cars do.
With regard manifold. I have jp4/j4 hybrid motor. With cooler plate and extra spacer plate for oil temp and pressure gauges aswell as stock size filter and my 421 mani clears it all fine. -
#7The c2 mani wont fit the saxo as the sumps are different depths, but im unsure what the actual shape differnces are for it to clear the later filter housing. Best bet is to get shot of it completely
