Was thinking about doing it at some point but still undecided
Just wanted to know peoples opinions on a raised bonnet?

#1
-
#2Why? does you have a ma$$ive turbo?
-
#3Depends on the car
99.87564% of the time it looks wank -
#4Agreed with both of the above, it looks shite on most cars tbh.
-
#5Chav mod, hilarious when done on poverty spec cars.
-
#6looks good on the ph1 106, everything else looks like its had a crash.
had to space mine a touch to clear the cam covers... or chop the brace bar from bonnet, but wasnt feeling that. -
#7Looks shit imo, chavvvyyy
-
#8Looks like you've banged the front end into a lamp post or someting
-
#9Ok guess its a no haha
-
#10Then you have people telling you, you`re bonnet isn`t shut all the time.
-
#11Its never looked good and is not even a brilliant method for cooling the enginebay.
-
#12Does wonders for engine bay fires though
-
#13Gonna be more annoying when people tell you your bonnets not closed properly...
-
#16Haha I suppose so mate
-
#17rarely looks good on mk1's
looks terrible on everything else. A bit like you've had a crash -
#18I did my old saxo about 3 washers high it didnt look too bad.
It helps keep your bay cooler. id say do it if you want it for extra cooling . But if its just to look cool dont. -
#20mines done i quite like it not bothered if anyone else does
its all down to opinion
-
#21i personally think it looks shit on mk2 bonnets as the shape isn't right for it, on a mk1 bonnet it CAN look good, with a select choice of mods.
-
#22that looks quite cool too be honest dont see many cars with bonnet raisers now
-
#26There's 2 pics on there not too good though. Just scroll down.
Egnore the stickers I was young and wanted to stand out haha

#27Haha i like the stickers have u git any bits left from this by anychance
-
#28Makes your car handle loads better because its like a splitter, straight lines keeping your car more stable at high speed.
-
#29Haha I did at the time. Not every one was a fan though. I have the spoiler and the yellow vt kit. Everything else was naffed.
Ohh and 1 30mm lowering spring. -
#33It was a bit of a 'fad' a couple of years ago, but that's all it was.
-
#35Pretty easy. Take it off. Cleand it. Get a scotch pad. Halfords have them. Scuff it up. Clean again. Plastic prima. Dry. Top coat. Dry .laqure. thats for a basic pant job. Ok for little trim. More complex for say a door.
-
#36Nice just thinking of doing abit inside of the car
-
#37Just google " car painting tips " or " plastic painting tips" onece you have a rough idea just give It a shot.
Also. Get plastic trims from a scrappy. That way if you naff it up or dont like it you have a back up
-
#38Yea think i will give it a shot when ive got some money saved up
-
#39You only realy need like £20 3 tins of paint "Halfords £6.99 or so each" much cheeper else ware. And a few pads and other bits cheep enough.
-
#43Looks shit on mk2s looks alright on mk1s, only car I've ever liked bonnet raisers on is a AE86
