Important! : Is it my shocks. Need help ASAP

Hi there just wondered if someone could help. It only happened today but as I left my mates house, it sounded like a flat tyre on the rear passenger side but when I pulled over and checked it wasn't so off I went again for it to happen again and then it just stopped. Sounds like my wheel is rubbing on the wheel arch until I a maybe hit a bump or go round a right corner, then it will either start again or stop. My car is lowered, would say about 40ml as I bought the car like this so unsure. Hope someone can help me as I got an mot due in 3 weeks so need to get it sorted!

Sounds to me like a very, very bad wheel bearing.

Or you might have snapped a spring?

Jack it up and have a quick look. You'll see a broken spring because its well... broken.

To check the bearing, jack it up and give it a good wobble, if theres play in there, chances are its a wheel bearing.

    Was it front or rear?

Snapped spring on a torsion bar setup?

Good point. I did ask as I wasnt sure if it was front or rear, I've just read it again and noticed it did say rear.

Check for play in the axle...

Or check the other basic check first, that being that the clip holding the handbrake cable away from the wheel hasn't broken. Without the clip they so poke outward a and will rub on the wheel. Very common.

Here you go, the clip to check is marked here with the yellow arrow (ignor the red writing ive just nicked another random pic off google images)

In fact even better, this thread shows a better picture with clear signs of rubbing
