superchip?

mates got a super chip he was given when he has his 3plug vtr chipped

i would assume the chip would have been put in the ecu or do they swap them and give ya the standard chip so ya can put it back standard?

if so where does the chip go on the 3plug ecu's?

*I chipped my GT and that just replaced an original chip from the circuit board if you pop the ECU you open it should be obvious which chip has been replaced/added.

****messing around with ECU's isn't really a good idea

they download the map via the diagnostics port.

i have an ecu that i am swapping teh EPROM from and it is fiddly as fuck so i suggest you leave your ecu to the pro's.

I still have the original chip I removed it has half its prongs missing as they snapped when I took it out.

Its not a good idea to mess with them honestly.

he wont need to on a 3 plug. its downloadded so there is no actual chip.

its not the chip he has is a 'key', they use this if you get a superchip dealer to alter the map.

as above 3plug vtr's are downloaded, more of a remap than a chip

He alright then I'll make more of an effort to read the threads in future so things dont have to be repeated.

stiffler, you cant swap the superchips on them, you would need to swap ecu's.

Very true and with swoping ECU's you would need to get it unlocked

Can i ask leeds106 how have you managed to get 110+bhp out of a quiksilver ???

just start both cars then umplug the immobs with the engine running, that will unlock them.
