Quick MOT advice.

    Hellooooo

Car failed it's MOT, and the only thing i'm struggling trying to figure out is this-

Nearside front lower suspension arm ball joint dust cover excessively damaged so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt.

I don't really know what this part is.

When I type in ebay/euorcarparts for ball joint dust cover, or wishbone dust cover etc it yields no results.

    Any advice please!!

Its the balljoint on the wishbone, the rubber cover has split

most places replace the whole lower arm, but i use rhino rubber corp. gaitors to replace the old one, easy as pie to fit

If the rubber is split, is it likely that the bushes are worn and in general the lower arm knackered because of dirt?

Should I replace the whole wishbone or just the ball joint, don't they have to pressed in?

I had a 2 new wishbones about a year ago & last year the car failed on the dust cover I just had the cover replaced mate.Providing theres no play in the wishbones or knocking sounds then you should be okay.

I failed exactly on that last year so I guess I should chime in. I had the steering rack replaced, so make sure the tracking is done properly after that. I ended up with a car driving sideways when that canoot gave it back to me (was perfectly sound in the first place). Was 2 degrees off, the car would actually steer off the road
