vtr turbo, yes another one!

I know there is a LOT of these type of threads. I know most of the stuf f i need to know just need a bit of advice and finalising.

I have a 50k complete 3 plug silvertop that iv stripped, cleaned up and ordered a new cambelt, waterpump, usuals. Iv already changed the oil filter back to normal type as I also have a fully stripped tu waiting for forgies at some point. I have a tubular manifold with external wastegate. Have a decomp plate but don't think I need it. Only bought it as it was cheap. Going to buy a t25 brand spankers because I don't want know smoking or crap.
Buying a gizzmo for boost controlling and having the presets for different types of driving. Going to get an innovate too for mapping along with a standalone. I don't want problems associated with 5th injector and mf2 as I do drive it a fair bit.

Intercooler and piping is easily sorted just need to know what size I need cooler?
Welding the sump is easy. How high does the union need to be? What's easiest way to get a oil feed from an 8v too?

It's the compression side of thing I need advice on. I'm not going to run the decomp plate, but do I need two hg's or would one 1.7 mm one be ok? As I need to drive it without boost for a few weeks and so i don't think I would want to drive it with two hg's or would it be fine?

Iv probably missed a few things but I'm quite clued up on stuff and will be doing most of it myself, close family friend builds engines and so he is guiding me when i change the valve stem seals and lap valves in he's also going to clean and lightly polish the ports so its bang on.

Another question would you recommend arp rod bolts? Also are they studs or bolts on 106?

    Thanks jage

Oil return needs to be as high as possible, above the oil level in the sump

Take a feed from the oil pressure switch on the front of the block

On the compression side of it, I currently run 2x 1.5mm gaskets on a lightly skimmed 90bhp head, with a 3 plug bottom end

It's ideal, great on boost, good off boost too

Shame you never posted this earlier, my engine is possibly for sale soon, only done 2k since was built

Ok chap shall order a union. What size did you use?

Ah that'll be easy as mines blank due to running a different dash the pressure one is one above the oil filter isn't it?

Yours has been reliable hasn't it? Ye I just don't want to have to drive on boost everywhere I don't mind doing it now and again just not all the time! How much you selling it for? I'd of been interested but you're years away and there's something I like about building an engine haha

£150 mate, it's got new everything, on 60/65k skimmed and rebuilt head etc

Can't remember size of fitting, but yeah that's the one

I don't drive mine on boost all the time, so that's easy done by your driving style anyway

And yeah, only probs I had was a knackered turbo and it dropped a valve as I never swapped to decent valve springs from the shitty silver top ones

What springs did you change to? I would be interested but you're years away haha what you changing too? Also what injectors did you use?

I've got some 440cc injectors.. I believe injector tune now sell the same ones

You're Leeds way yeah? Not that far

And I used blacktop springs and caps
