#10My advice would be to pay more money and get a better bearing. Cheap bearings are like a fit bird with the clap you want to but you know you really shouldn't.

#11most bearing suppliers tend to stock major brand bearings such as SKF, NKE, TIMKIN, NSK & KOYO. They're the exact same suppliers that provide to manufacturers.
As long as you know the specs...which will either be on the old bearing (type, width, inner and outer race diameters, sealed or not) or take it to the supplier, then you should be able to get them relatively cheap for a good quality item -
#12The make was by unipart the place where I got it pressed in used all unipart stuff for their servicing etc, car drives nice now, for 16.33 plus vat to make it 20 squid I'm am happy

#13was that just to press the bearing in? Was it into a drum for rear brake or a hub for front or rear. Did you have to take the part off the car or was the price for everything done inc bearing fitted?Quote:The make was by unipart the place where I got it pressed in used all unipart stuff for their servicing etc, car drives nice now, for 16.33 plus vat to make it 20 squid I'm am happy
Bearing fitted usually takes about 30-45 minutes including taking the drum off depending how worn the shoes are to the drum
I recently made a press for such tasks coz I get fed up of paying local garages to press the bearings out at a tenner a time. Its big enough to do half shaft bearings and also wide enough to fit a motorbike wheel with tyre between the uprights
