anyone do timing belt's in south west!

    basically my old man needs his timing belt changed on his vtr.! i have experience in cars but not done timing belts yet so wouldnt want to risk it!...

    we in weston-super-mare area. i phoned a few garages and they want loads money for a job that takes less than half hour!

    Pretty sure there is a decent guide for the 8v on here if you search.
    Its honestly an easy job, just take your time and double check the timing if you're not sure.
    16v engines are a little more involved but still simple compared to some cars!

    As Dan said, it is honestly really easy - I had never done one before and followed the Haynes manual and it was really simple to do. My car has done about 10k miles since with no problems so it was obviously done alright
    Just get the bits and give it a go - as long as you lock off the flywheel and cam pulley, I can't see that you can go wrong!

    if you know it takes half and hour why not do it yourself?
    The only time consuming part is taking the cam belt cover off.

    i paid 180 for 16v cambelt kit and waterpump (fitted). Shouldn't be anymore than 150 for the 8v.
