Handbreak light doesn't go on

  1. #1
If I lift the handbreak there is no light unless I lean it to the right a bit.

Typically, my MOT is on Friday and this problem has only started today.

Any help on this? Or do I wedge something into the gap to make it constantly lean right?

Try adjusting the bolts holding the handbrake to the floor,or see if you can move the switch slightly.

When you put the handbrake on it touches a switch & puts a light on,on the dash.

is possibile to check the switch without lifting the carpet?

Maybe if you are lucky you can get your fingers in there, but I reckon you'll have to lift the carpet

That's normally if the light stays on with the handbrake off

Ok thanks, because I've never seen the parking light on my saxo even with the handbrake on...

You don't need a light to come on when the handbrake is engaged for the MOT - it not working isn't a fail.
