Gaz vs. Billies (Rear Dampers)

  1. #1
I currently have Spax but the rear's have worn out. I'm looking for something stiff yet not a dedicated track dampers. What would you guys suggest?

    Thank you.

I'd use Billies for road every time.

Gaz can re- build you dampers to billies spec or any other spec you like if you give them a ring. £60 per damper iirc so its worth buying some fucked ones from ebay and having them rebuilt to the spec you want.

What ones you on about though logic? b6 or 8?
  5. #5
They are the same part number on the rear.

    Fair doos.

    Koni work fine as well.

    Uh, what's the difference between b6 & b8's?

I have had the Bilie OEM replacements and didn't like them at all. I want some stiffness.

that'll be because its the spring that gives stiffness, the damper controls them.

    This was for the rear

I took the billies off mine for the road as they were too stiff, mind you that was for an AX.

same, a torsion bar is a spring.

i've always thought this, but a firm damper still makes a difference

go for b8 billies, or B8 termac spec if roads are good

B6 and B8 are the same but I think B8's are for lowered cars iirc

The fronts are different. I guess there is not enough damper motion on the rear to warrant having two different designs.
