I am doing an oil filter conversion on my mk2 vtr engine, I have a doner mk1 engine here, how can I remove the threaded piece the filter winds onto from the old engine?

#4If it won't undo by hand (some do) you need to wrap cloth round it and get some grips on it - and be very careful.1 user thanked this post:

#6Cant see it happening with any success tbh. Tried a few times now and only got one out with no problems.
Easier to buy a pair from Citroen for £14
Not trying to be a dick but we fucking know.Quote:not trying to be a dick but i think hes trying to do a oil relocation,
There is no way on earth they sell a relocation kit for £5 so if you don't mind stfu.2 users thanked this post: , -

cheers for the replys, so it does unscrew then, i wasnt 100% sure. i'll give it a go and see tomorrow had a quick go today but seemed tight, then again it was only a very quick try but if not ill have to get the part from citroen -
#8Yeah it does unscrew but they are thread locked from factory and are a bastard to get out after 10+ years of use.
The part you want is part number:- 1103a7 and they come in pairs £14.
Yes I can and my head is perfectly fine up there. There is a difference about knowing what you are on about and commenting on a thread you have no clue about to get your post count up. -
#9i thought about cutting a slot in the adaptor and using a large flat head screwdriver on its side to try and remove it, not sure if that will work though.
and cheers for the part number

#11I wouldn't want to be doing that mate tbh. For the price of £14 I would get 2 then sell the other on here in the for sale section there is always some one who is fitting a manifold so needs one. I sold over 200 of them in the last 3 years.

#13didnt thing it was a brilliant idea, just thinking of different ways until tomorrow.Quote:I wouldn't want to be doing that mate tbh. i've been on google, the only thing i can find is this: http://www.citroencarparts.net/1103A7/ -
#14that's the one if you can get it at that price you are sorted. But that's the old price citroen don't even buy them in for that now.

#16Wow that got shirty eh.
As both Bedford and I have said, it can be removed - give it a try. If you bugger the thread trying (quite likely) then bedfords given you the part number you need
-
#17Yeah haha, but I can confirm I got the adaptor out the old block
