I am doing an oil filter conversion on my mk2 vtr engine, I have a doner mk1 engine here, how can I remove the threaded piece the filter winds onto from the old engine?

If it won't undo by hand (some do) you need to wrap cloth round it and get some grips on it - and be very careful.

Cant see it happening with any success tbh. Tried a few times now and only got one out with no problems.

Easier to buy a pair from Citroen for £14

Yeah it does unscrew but they are thread locked from factory and are a bastard to get out after 10+ years of use.

The part you want is part number:- 1103a7 and they come in pairs £14.

Yes I can and my head is perfectly fine up there. There is a difference about knowing what you are on about and commenting on a thread you have no clue about to get your post count up.

i thought about cutting a slot in the adaptor and using a large flat head screwdriver on its side to try and remove it, not sure if that will work though.
and cheers for the part number

I wouldn't want to be doing that mate tbh. For the price of £14 I would get 2 then sell the other on here in the for sale section there is always some one who is fitting a manifold so needs one. I sold over 200 of them in the last 3 years.

that's the one if you can get it at that price you are sorted. But that's the old price citroen don't even buy them in for that now.

    Wow that got shirty eh.

As both Bedford and I have said, it can be removed - give it a try. If you bugger the thread trying (quite likely) then bedfords given you the part number you need

Yeah haha, but I can confirm I got the adaptor out the old block
