Need help, injector or fuel pressure? Starts but cuts out when throttle is applied

Hey everyone, i have a bit of an issue with my R reg 1.1i saxo (Single-point injection). Its been off the road for 3 years and kept in the garage, it was 100% working fine. Anyway, decided to get it back on the road and had a few issues to start with that are now sorted (kinda). No fuel was reaching the throttle body/Carb, so I removed the fuel pump and got it working again, while i was at it I changed the fuel filter too. Before that I took parts off of the carburetor and put them back together.

Now here's the issue, fuel finally reaches the carb and starts ok, as expected, i can even rev it up to around 2000rmp, BUT as soon as the throttle is opened to a point in which you can hear air being sucked in, it stalls. I had a closer look and the injector is spraying the slightest bit of petrol down the throttle body on idle, but when pulling the throttle cable the injector doesn't seem to want to compensate for the throttle opening and just barely sprays petrol (at the same rate as it does on Idle, hardly anything)

The injector is obviously receiving power, but I'm not sure if its clogged up in any way, or if this has something to do with fuel pressure. Or maybe even something which i'm not aware of.

Would anyone know what could be the cause of this or how I can resolve the issue. Thanks in advance

when my lambda sensor on the manifold was faulty, the car didn't exceed 2000rpm...don't know if could be this in your problem

thanks for your reply, i'm not sure if its that, just seems strange that when I turn the engine over the injector spays minimum amount of fuel and won't start, but still does the same when it does start when manually pouring petrol into the carb.

This might sound stupid, but what does the lambda sesor do?

And also, when the ignition is on before starting the egine, the orange engine management light is on, which in the handbook states that its an ignition/injection system fault, but goes off once engine has started, but again only when manually pouring petrol.

I replaced on of the fuel lines that went from the pump down to the fuel filter, could it be down to fuel pressure maybe?

yeah that sounds about right once the car starts up, not enough fuel gets injected past that point

The engine management light is meant to be on,the ecu goes through a self check then if all is well goes out when the car is started.

Ok thanks for that, just couldn't remember if it stayed on or not lol been a while since I last drove it

Lambda sensor adjust the carburation based on what it reads from the exhaust gas So if the lambda doesn't work properly the carburation could be wrong (as said in my case the car didn't exceed 2000rpm...) sorry for my english, hope it's clear
