What's this noise? Think its draining my battery...

This is the noise I'm on about:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4ZH6...ature=youtu.be

Happens about every minute and a half/2 minutes. When I go back to my car in the mornings it struggles to start. Also, whether the car is unlocked, keys in the ignition or not, the time and miles are always displayed. Is this related?

Also I have twice charged the battery for 24 hours and it is almost flat after that. But when the car is run with it in, it charges properly. Obviously as said, it loses charge though. If the battery is buggered then I don't mind replacing it but I want to find out what is draining the power first cos I don't wanna ruin a new battery.

Have heard that noise on various saxos and as far as I'm aware the clock stays on tbh I don't really look

Both my saxo's make that noise and a lot of other cars do aswell mate dont think it's anything do worry about if it is I'm screwed aswell :L

Same with the clocks mine in both stay on definately not using enough power to drain the battery :-)

Edit-- I'm guessing from the clocks being on you mean on but not illuminated?

If its normal then I'm just gonna replace my battery. The car was sat up for 6 months and rarely used anyway and with the cold weather its probably shagged the battery.

    Cheers gents
