Diagnostic machine wont connect

I have just had my car plugged in and the diagnostic machine will not connect.

Anyone have any ideas why? It's one for all cars so it should connect but for some reason it comes up with "ensure ignition is on and machine is plugged in correctly"

    Is your car single plug?

Single plug ecu is not OBD2 compatible, on the single plug it will just say connectsion error.

As above if its a single plug then it needs a lexia-3 scanner.

Then most probably it`ll need a lexia-3 scanner or plugging into a snap-on scanner.

only the newer snap on scanners seem to work on the single plug ecu's.

The lexia-3 scanners can be had on ebay pretty cheap. people normally buy them from hong-kong then when they get here they claim back from pay pal and sell them on. It's a cunts trick but there are plenty in the uk at about £50.

It sounds like the software for the snap-on scanner hasn`t been updated, because last time(last year in fact)I had my ecu codes read they used a snap-on scanner. My saxo is a 1997 single plug ecu too.
