    if i get 195.40.16 tyres and i put 20mm spacers on with my alloys will they stick out my arches any help pls

    with an offset of 38mm and a width of 195, 20mm spacers should be fine, because that'll bring the offset to within the saxo limits. (ET15-18).
    but im sure if im wrong sum1 will correct me.

    Unless of course it's mounted on an 8.5x16-inch wheel!
    But it's most probably a 7-inch wheel, so it shouldn't be a problem.

    Surely the tyre has to be the same width as the alloy????

    It doesn't have to be - can be stretched euro stylee. But in this case it most probably is the same width as the tyres.
