car lost power ?

   was driving home from shops witch is about 700 yards away i know im a lazy git but i was just coming round my corner when the car just lost power, all the light came on just like when you stall it, i slammed on brakes but they had gone stiff but ripped handbrake just before the curb lol its never happened before any reasons why,?

   could be lots of reasons, did it restart? and yes the brakes will go "stiff" as you lose servo assistance when the engines off

   had this on my first saxo, turned out to be a faulty engine coolent temp sensor.. although it could be any sensor best to take to a garage who knows what they are doing with diagnostics. As most people will just whack parts on that dont need replacing.
