BE clutch cable problems

Does anyone know or have changed the pedals as a whole with the engine in? Only thing i can see being a problem is with ot being connected to the brake bar.

Just im doing a BE conversion uding a firsline BE cable which i was told to drill the hole out so the bulkhead fitting fits in which ive done but imo the cable is abit too short and when tightening the clutch cable and pressing on the pedal there is no tension so doesnt return back. I dont know if maybe the cable inside the outer sleeving is maybe getting stuck somewhere as the release bearing is attached to the fork ok.

Just im thinking of changing the pedals so got a original sized clutch bulkhead hole so i can get a BE cable from the likes of atspeed/spoox as im not happy with the fit on the current firstline.

    Anyone help me on this?

When the clutch cable returns back when letting your foot off the clutch is it the pedal that brings the pedal back or is it something on the gearbox, there is no return even with the release bearing fitted when the cable is not connected which i know is correct iirc but once the connect the cable and tighten its just presses up against the clutch and doesnt return back as if there something springing it back out away from the clutch.

    Anyone?

Think i may change to a atspeed BE cable but going to have to change the pedal box now also due to making the hole bigger for this cable.

Have now changed this for a atspeed cable. its doing the same as with the firstline cable. Theres just no tension or return when tightening the clutch cable.

I can see this being removal of the engine! The release bearing is on the fork, fork is on the pivot.

I'm not sure what dictates how the clutch pedal returns, but when we had a BE4R box fitted to our 106 GTi rally car a Citroen Visa clutch cable was used. So if its a cable problem try a Citroen Visa clutch cable.

Its not a cable problem, ive changed to a different cable and both have done the same its as if the fork needs a spring like action to get it to return back to postion. When depressing the pedal the cable comes out away from the fork.

Isn't it something to do with the fact a be box uses hydrologic for the clutch? If you have bought a cable from atspeed just give them a call and see what they have got to say I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

    Anyone else got any ideas??

There must be something inside the box that gives the fork a spring like action but there wasnt anything from the old hydrolic setup that i removed.
