106 GTi hunting and stalling

    Posting this on behalf of a friend

    He has just bought a 106 GTi t driven it about 300 miles without fault and then the engine starting hunting and stalling, you start the engine and its fine will idle lerfect then all of a sudden will start to shake and make a constant suckin sound from induction kit/breather pipe if you try revving the car it stals, start it back up and its fine.. Now am i right in saying faulty coilpack? S Reg GTi

    Sucking sound sounds like a loose/split or perished vacuum pipe mate.

    The car actually doesnt start now its given up cylinder 2 and 4 sparkplugs were coated in brown oily shite is this failing coilpack?
