16s on a saxo. Do or dont?

  1. #1
There are some cheap O.Zs for sale, 16x7, and I wondered how the saxo will cope with them on.
Could any one tell me if i would have any clearance issues?
Any other feedback would be good!

I cant see it being a problem, what tyres you planning on running?
  3. #3
Depends how low your car is tbh. I have 15's on mine and they rub when on full lock
  4. #4
If you get 16's then you must get the lower 40 profile tyres. The 45's will usually cause rubbing in full lock and on the rear.

195/40 tyres and you'll be fine.

This. Caveat that it's that it's not lowered a lot. Down 50mm+ and you'll probably find it rubs, even with 40's

Looks shit on anything over 15's

I had 16's on mine until i took a chunk out of one of them. Mine were fine, mind you, the car was sitting like a 4x4 so that probably had a lot to do with it :/

Got 16's on mine, not lowered and they scrub on full lock so if your lower than standard id say no go 15's

15's all day long, stop trying to get bigger wheels to acomadate for your tiny manhood, besides 17 OZ's off the cossy!?
  11. #11
15" mate ,no more ,maybe some extra strong rally tarmac wheels could go with 40's but the ride would be terrible ,saxo with 16" is like hummer with 26-8" just doesn't go :/

cheers everyone! The wheels in question were those scruffy O.Z 16s on here.
I think i will leave them as the car is lowered 50mm. I like the 14' VTR wheels to be fair and i have 15's anyway.
The wheels were cheaper than a set of tires was all and i could respray them to a decent standard so considered it.

Got 16" C2 VTS alloys on my Saxo Vts with 40 profile and lowered a bit ... No probs and looks great

I got 17's on my s1 flat arch 1.5D at standard height. 205/40's but I did have to do some arch work, plus it scrubbed at full lock and when loaded up.

16's look cracking on a saxo.
  16. #16
you should be fine but as mentioned above i dont think they suit bigger wheels.. 15 tops

    I have 16's
    40 profile tyres
    Lowered 60mm

    Not had any issues.

Old pic when I used to have 16" super T's

I was about to say I think 16's are too big for a Saxo, but they certainly look good on the above pic!

    Looking decent Simon! clean.

Personally I'd never go bigger than 15, unless you have real man brakes.

I never had any issues with 16s on my vts whilst being lowered 60mm even on 45 profile tyres. Just needed the rear bumper brackets trimming.

    Agree about the brakes
Std 247's do look a bit pathetic with 16's
Main reason I went for wilwoods
