Do i have the wrong Driveshafts (cv)

  1. #1
am fed up of this now car continues to make a knocking sound. So i ordered the front driveshafts from this place http://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/

provided my reg number so they should be the right ones.

However went to the garage and apparently the driverside is too long, called up j&r and the guy was adament that i have the right ones for my car and that the mechanic is wrong. Was told the abs ring isnt an issue and that they are spring loaded so shorter when fitted.

Car is a 1.1 saxo W reg (2000 4 Stud) can anyone tell by the pics if i have the right ones. (dirty one is the old left side)

    thanks

    They look correct to me

Only thing i can think is at some point someones put a vt* shaft with intermediate bearing on your car which is confusing the mechanic

much stronger Inner cv type there as found on VT's and bigger engined citroens and pugs.

also look to be the full 6 ball type outer CV.

Theinner cv being the larger shouldnt cause an issue though as the splines are actually shorter i thought

They look all good, most importantly they are the same 'tapered' type fitting as your old one is.
