VTR Alternator?

    Alright lads,

    The almighty VTR is giving me some problems..

    Coming home from work the other day I saw the battery light flicker on on the dash, now just went to take it up the garage to have a look at the brakes and as I started it the battery light was on.. pulled off.. no power steering

    Got it home, started up again and it was fine and back to normal.

    Now obviously somethings wrong though and I think it's the alternator?

    Anyone know if this is expensive?

    Also got quoted £160 for new rear pads and discs is that reasonable?

    Look in the for sale section on here for the alternator mate.

    not sure of your problem mate but 160 is bit steep, ebay job & fit them yourself

    yeah, no power steering and battery light is an alternator problem
    If you have a tester, try if the battery is recharging when the engine is on
