Braking issue

  1. #1
    Hi all,

I recently upgraded the brakes to 266mm kit along with Gaz coilovers, new droplinks, wishbones, rear axle and new rear pads. The car was tracked aswell along with a full powerflex poly bush kit.

I've noticed a couple of times now that when braking from high enough speed 50/60/70 the car can feel like its wobbling, going one side then the other, almost like the back is stepping out.

Anybody have any ideas of what could be causing it???

    sticky caliper

brake imabalance to the rear causing the rears to lock

    not properly bled

could be a few things matey

Cheers mate, il have it looked at.

I know the nipple on the rear passenger caliper was broke so it was bled from the top of the brake line.

Just wondering if 1.you have enough clearance between the wheels & the brakes & 2.if you have the correct wheel bolts fitted.

Did you lower the rear of the car when placing the new suspension?
If so you have to tighten ( i think ) the regulator on the rear axle as one side is probably braking more than the other.

If its low on the back it will be the compensator sending to much braking to the rear. I'd do away with it and run new copper/braided rear brake pipes with a proper adjustable brake bias valve.

change the rear bias valve if its seized up and buggered. Generally once they get old and corroded they are hard to adjust

Could the fact that there's Ferodo ds2500 pads on the front and new standard Bosche pads on the back cause this??

Il get the car back into garage over next few days

No not at all, if anything it should help the fronts out more at higher temperatures etc
