spitting oil

  1. #1

I know its a bad image but just went to warm up the diesel and check its all good and saw on the snow its spitting small amounts of oil. Im assuming this is because of the oil breather sucking up oil so im thinking about fitting a catch tank just to stop this.

Can anyone suggest a decent catch tank and where to get one from please?

im pretty sure its oil. recently had the oil changed and was filled to the max on the dipstick. might drain a small amount back out as i think its a bit too high. also took the breather off the inlet the other day and cleaned it out as there was quite a large amount of oil coating the inside of the inlet.

It's water droplets mixing with soot in the exhaust.

    Definitely NOT oil

Diesel is oil, so of course.

I ran a mk3 golf on 90% used engine oil for a month (I had to get rid of it somehow) and it was fine if you didn't floor it.

As for sump oil, in the 36,000 miles I've had mine the oil level doesn't budge at all. now go away and bum your petrol you big bell
