Mainly 3rd gear more noticable.

It's the diff bearing.
A vast majority of them Whine. Use it until it pops.

gearbox rebuilt basically, you'd better off buying a recon or good used box

try changing the oil to comma or total my runabout wines if i dont, proper car doesnt seem to bothered. the wine is the diff on its way out tho this might just shut it up not fix it ...
