battery light flickers at 3000rpm and drains itself :/

   Okay so just went to town and was about to go for a ride out. I noticed my battery light was flickering as soon as I got to 3000rpm and then the lights, speedo, cd player and eventualy the fuel pump cut out.
   
   Bumped it off and the light doesn't come on whilst on tick over and before I get to the said rpm.
   
   Does this mean my alternator is on its way out/ dead ?

   Yes sounds like its over chargeing or got a short curcuit. I would not drive if you can help it, the battery can catch fire or explode.

   Oh dear will get a fresh alternator tomorrow and see if it cures it.
   
   It has had a turbo on for a few months so I think that maybe the cause

   Check the wires first, as said it sound like it might be shorting
   
   The wires are common for corroding, so may be as simple as new terminal

   It was the alternator which was at fault, all sorted now thanks guys
