Beam lowering

  1. #1
I know by now people must be fed up of seeing threads about this but just seeking peoples opinions.
Ive started to attempt lowering my beam and have all the bolts loose but the torsion bar is solid i keep putting wd40 on it but still nothing. I was thinking about getting the gas bottles on it but wondered if theres any easier ways that people have done them before
    Cheers

Have you removed the eccentric washers mate?

Also never use heat on torsion bars. Get yourself a old torsion bar and cut it in half and use that and a huge hammer to get the bars out. Personally i have never used wd40 on lowering a rear beam.

What the fuck are you on about?

To get the washers out i tap them with a hammer and a drift then once they are central in the hole use a small pick to tease them out.

You failed. Even though Wales won the rugby...... Cnut.

But yeah you gotta use force to do the bars heat isn't a option and wd40 doesn't really help.

Try it this way and let us know how you get on when the m8 bolt snaps in the end of the bar.

but its another option on how to get a torsion bar out am i right?
im not no cleaver dick, im giving this bloke another option, its more safer then hammering a old torsion bar in? got to make sure its hammering the same way the thread is or you will f**k the thread,

plus how do you know i might have lowered cars? you dont know me? i was gonna offer you £35 for your rocker cover but f**k you, i dont know why im arguing with you, ide rather drive my saxo then come on here and finger bang my keyboard everynight trying to be the dogs bolloks

But that's the difference I know I am the dogs bollocks.

Also keep your £35 quid mate.

And any one who suggests a slide hammer and a bolt to remove a torsion bar has never lowered a saxo.

Because the bolt snaps in the end of the beam and fucks the bar up. Nothing wrong with twatting the beam out.

    P.s still a bell end.
