VTR Airbox bit missing?

  1. #1
so ive just bought a VTR..

millions of problems with it.. (it was cheap) needs new wishbones and driveshafts.. but im on with fixing those..

but.. ive just noticed another hole at the bottom of the standard airbox under the cold air feed.. and i can see the air filter through the hole..

from what ive seen in pictures there should be another black plastic chamber attached to this Hole.. but its missing on my Car..!

whats it for? whats it called? and does anyone have one they wanna sell? to put my car back to standard

It's the resonator box mate. Get yourself a correct size bung and block it off with some sealer.

It's not needed and it makes very little difference to the sound.

    ahhhhh that would make sense!

would that be why the car makes a sort of deep booming sound when i give it the beans above 2500rpm ish?

Yeah it's the resonator box I bunged mine with a spray can lid as a temp measure.
